About

The artist, Gene Berman, was a Master woodcarver who specialized in carving human figures, walking sticks and birds of prey. His favorite media were basswood, tupelo and acrylic paint finishes. Although primarily self-taught, he studied at the American Wood Carving School in Wayne, New Jersey. Since 1990, he honed his skills using a combination of hand and power tools.
